This iconic Eastern Cape cycling event, proudly presented by Spargs in support of the Eyabantwana Trust, brings together cyclists of all ages and abilities for a day of excitement, community spirit, and purpose. Beyond the thrill of the ride, the event raises vital funds to support children’s surgical care in local government hospitals.

The 2026 Spargs 1000 Cycle Race is officially sanctioned by Cycling South Africa and will once again serve as the Amatole District Championships, with competitors’ results contributing to their official district rankings. Featuring a variety of distances and scenic routes, the race offers something for everyone — from seasoned athletes to first-time riders.

The event is proudly supported by the Buffalo City Traffic Department and the Provincial Traffic Department, ensuring a safe and secure experience for all participants. Please note that this is an open road race, and cyclists are advised to remain cautious and follow all race and traffic guidelines.

The Cycle Village will come alive on Sunday with the Fine & Fabulous Market, transforming the area into a lively family hub filled with food, crafts, and entertainment. It’s more than just a race — it’s a celebration of sport, community, and giving back.

Every entrant will receive a finisher’s medal to commemorate their personal achievement and participation in one of the Eastern Cape’s most anticipated cycling events.
